The Kolyvansky and Vostochny Open-Pit Mines extract high-quality UHG anthracite at the Kolyvansky deposit in the Gorlovsky coal basin located in Iskitimsky District.
The company began open-pit mining of anthracite in 1975. Due to the growing global demand for high-quality anthracite, operations at the Severny section were launched in 2005 to increase production volumes. In 2007, development of the nearby Krutikhinsky section began. In 2023, 100 million tonnes of anthracite were mined. The mine’s reserves amounted to 126 million tonnes of anthracite as of January 1, 2021, according to JORC Code classification.
Commercial operations began here in 2016, and in just 5 years, it has equaled the annual production level of the Kolyvanskye Mine, the Group’s oldest coal mine. By May of 2024, just 8 years after mining began, the company had produced 50 million tonnes of high-quality anthracite. The mine’s reserves amounted to 144.9 million tonnes as of January 1, 2021, according to JORC Code classification.
