Verkhneteshsky Open-Pit Mine Receives Award for Charity and Patronage

The Novokuznetsk Municipal District highly appreciates the enterprise's contributions.

Mikhail Rudakov, General Director of the Verkhneteshsky Open-Pit Mine, was awarded a badge of honor 'For Charity and Patronage' in the Novokuznetsk Municipal District. The presentation took place on the eve of Miner's Day at the Village of Sosnovka's House of Culture.

The Verkhneteshsky Open-Pit Mine – the youngest enterprise in the Sibanthracite Group – began its charity campaign even before launching production activities. Its first tonne of coal was mined only at the end of 2022, while its socio-economic partnership agreement with the municipal district's administration was signed in 2021. Since then, the company has allocated more than 50 million rubles for implementing socially significant projects. Major repairs have been carried out at two community centers – in the village of Elan and the village of Krasnaya Orlovka. Public spaces have been landscaped, public roads have been repaired, streetlights have been installed, and much more. In addition, the Verkhneteshsky Open-Pit Mine works to popularize a very important area – ecology. The company organizes environmental classes for the younger generation. As part of the Eco-Life project, children are taught to live an environmentally friendly life and take care of their natural environment in an exciting playful way.

At the solemn event, the head of the Novokuznetsk District, Andrey Sharnin, thanked the leadership of the Verkhneteshsky Open-Pit Mine for its productive and socially responsible cooperation:

"I express my gratitude to the mine for its active support of the area. With your support in renovating schools, landscaping parks, and repairing roads, everything is being done to make the lives of our residents more comfortable. It's great when big business pays attention to more than just its core business, and also supports charitable initiatives."
