The estimated anthracite reserves of the Sibanthracite Group’s Kolyvansky Open-Pit Mine in Novosibirsk Region have been increased by 64 million tonnes.
In accordance with the conclusion of the Russian Federal Agency for Subsoil Use’s State Commission, which was based on a recently conducted government inspection of the Kolyvansky mine’s mineral reserves, the resource base of the enterprise was increased by 64 million tonnes as of January 1, 2024.
Consequently, the mine’s reserves now amount to 168 million tonnes of anthracite, of which 130 fall within the current technical mining limits.
According to the Kolyvansky Open-Pit Mine’s chief geologist, Vadim Redkin, the mine’s anthracite reserves will last 15-17 years given existing production rates.
