Sibanthracite Borders Yevsino Station in Iskitimsky District ‘with Green Barrier’

Employees of the Sibanthracite Group’s Listvyansky Enrichment Complex have wrapped up a large environmental campaign by planting 400 silver poplar seedlings.

Each young tree is already 3-4 meters in height, which will ensure better survival. The new green barrier is about a kilometer in length.

The company allocated more than three million rubles for purchasing the seedlings and provided all the equipment necessary for carrying out planting work. According to the Listvyansky Enrichment Complex’s chief ecologist, Irina Vavilova, pyramidal poplars were not chosen by chance:

“These trees do not emit fluff and are absolute champions in air purification. One adult tree can provide healthy breathing for three people.”

Local residents joined the company’s employees in planting the trees.  As the head of the Yevsinsky Village Council, Alexander Kruglikov, noted, this event was not their first joint eco-action:

“We are systematically working with Sibanthracite on landscaping and improving our settlements. We plant at least 150 seedlings of various types of trees and shrubs every year. Last year, we carried out an eco-action in the village of Urgun.”

Work on creating green spaces and landscaping in the Iskitimsky District will continue. The next large eco-action will be held this summer in the worker’s settlement of Linevo, timed to coincide with the anniversary of the settlement.
