Ten students from school No. 4 in the village of Linevo are receiving free training in Python, one of the most basic and popular programming languages, at Coddy, a leading Russian school. The project was implemented on the initiative and with the support of the Sibanthracite Group.

A preliminary test was conducted to determine the most capable and interested children for the program. A group of schoolchildren aged 12-16 was recruited to take a specially designed annual course. Students will develop their own computer game and create a Telegram bot. Classes will be held in a convenient online format, even during school vacations. After completing the course, children will receive a certificate of completion. In addition to mastering Python, the children will familiarize themselves with one of the major programming methods – object-oriented programming.

“Thanks to Sibanthracite, we have the opportunity to launch a useful project like this for the first time. We offered this program to kids enrolled in a class on engineering, which is a partly related field. Children realize they need it and, most importantly, are interested in it. Consequently, the group was recruited quite easily,” said Tatyana Gulyaeva, director of Linevo’s school No. 4.

Programming Course is a part of a comprehensive program to improve the quality of education in the regions where the Group operates at all levels, from schools to universities. In February educational institutions in Iskitim district got 31 computers as part of the company's large-scale program to cumputerize regional schools. In total 147 computers were delivered and 7,4 million rubles were allocated for the program. The computerization program will continue.

The company helped to organize classes focusing on in-depth study of hard and natural sciences at the Sputnik center for children’s scientific and technical creativity in Linevo.
