The company receives the award in one of the most prestigious categories of «Competitive Procurement Leader» contest for the second consecutive year
The jury highly appreciated “The purchase of crushing and screening plants” project presented by the Sibanthracite Group. The company showed how to effectively combine the performance of production tasks with reducing environmental stress and the carbon footprint.
The new equipment will completely eliminate the use of 15 mobile sorting facilities and 30 shovel loaders thus reducing the emissions of pollutants by almost 300 tonnes per year. Unnecessary reloading and transshipment of coal are eliminated. Small fractions will be treated with special anti-dust reagents on exit. The new equipment runs on electricity, which is an environmentally friendly form of energy.
Anatoly Kuzmin, Procurement Director of “Management Company “Sibanthracite” LLC, noted that the purchase crushing and screening plants is only part of the company's "green" procurement program: "When making a decision on purchases, we must take into account the expected environmental effect. This is a global trend that Sibantracite follows. Congratulations and thanks to colleagues from the Operations Directorate and other divisions of the company. This is our common victory."
The company also implements other “green” initiatives. Sibanthracite uses excavators which run on electricity, switches to eco-friendly fuel — liquefied natural gas, uses high-tech dust suppression units and new effective anti-dust-and-freezing coal processing technologies.
Last year Sibanthracite was awarded for ‘The Best Procurement Processes Modernization Project’. The company received the award for its project to digitalize refueling.
