Sibanthracite Group: Production and Financial Results for 2019

Consolidated performance indicators of Siberian Anthracite JSC, Open-Pit Mine Vostochny, LLC and Open-Pit Mine Kiyzassky, LLC in accordance with IFRS

The production volume of Sibanthracite Group in 2019 amounted to 23.7 million tons, of which 14.1 million tonnes was ultra-high grade (UHG) anthracite, and 9.6 million tonnes was coal of grade T (PCI). 24.1 million tons were shipped to consumers.

Revenues in 2019 reached 125.5 billion rubles. The volume of investments amounted to 10.8 billion rubles. ND/ EBITDA (the ratio between net debt and EBITDA) is 1,7x.

The total amount of taxes paid in 2019 amounted to 7.7 billion rubles, with a tax on profit of 5.1 billion rubles. The specific tax burden is 323 rubles per tonne which is still the highest in the industry.

The Group consistently continues its policy of socially responsible business and allocated 1.7 billion rubles for social and charitable purposes.

The Sibanthracite Group supplies over 90% of its products for export. The Sibathracite Group maintained its 2018 production volumes in 2019, despite quotas for coal imports imposed by the company’s main market, China (Chinese ports haven’t been accepting coal from producers since November; the restriction on traders was introduced in July), and the general deterioration of the global coal market.

In 2019 the Group continued to actively increase the number of long-term and direct contracts, introduce new types of products to the market and increase the share of high-margin products that perfectly meet requirements of its consumers. The Group opened an office in Singapore to be closer to customers in the Asia-Pacific markets.

“Also, Sibanthracite continues its efficiency increase programme. A set of measures including cost reduction, product quality assurance, attraction of new customers, etc., allows the company to work stably this year which is challenging for the coal market,” said Sergey Melnikov, General Director of Sibanthracite Management Company.
